NODE

Defines the Internet host name of this LISTSERV host.

NODE=LISTSERV.MYHOST.NET

This must be a fully qualified address as noted in the example. It must not be an IP address or a non-qualified address such as 'LISTSERV'.

For testing/evaluation purposes you can define the NODE as a square-bracketed, dotted-IP, e.g., NODE=[aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd], but this is not officially supported, and L-Soft will not accept registrations for servers using this nomenclature.
