SMTP_RESET_EVERY

This configuration variable directs LISTSERV to reset the SMTP connections to the SMTP delivery machines at regular intervals (minutes). This parameter improves turnaround time on busy servers if the mail delivery server is a Unix machine. It should not be used with other types of delivery servers.

SMTP_RESET_EVERY=60

This variable is normally not set, which means that connections are not reset unless inactive.
